Over 100 years of innovation and quality.
Alape has been synonymous with quality solutions in the sanitary area since 1896. Such classics as the sink basin, the world’s first built-in basin and the first bathroom cabinet-washtable combination were invented by this tradition-steeped company. In this way, Alape also had a decisive influence on the development of the bathroom.
Q: Why is Alape different?
A: For more than 115 years, Alape has viewed glazed steel not only as a material, but also as its strongest source of inspiration. The material’s characteristics have become a compass for their design, allowing products to take shape that fulfil the basic human needs for cleanliness and aesthetics in equal measure.
The basis for their washstands is a stable moulded body made of low-carbon special steel containing titanium, consisting of 100% natural raw materials, just like the wafer-thin layer of glaze which is applied on top. The two combine to form the characteristic >> glazed steel << material used by Alape. The material enables the creation of fascinating shapes, unique surfaces and dimensions in millimetre precision but it is also lightweight, yet extremely durable. The positive visual, haptic and hygienic properties of their products remain throughout their entire lifetime.
